Queer Things, Great and Small
"For if the world is like a dark jungle and a garden of delight for all wild hunters, it strikes me even more, and so I prefer to think of it, as an abysmal, rich sea--a sea full of colorful fish and crabs, which even gods might covet, that for their sakes they would wish to become fishermen and net-throwers, so rich is the world in queer things, great and small. Especially the human world, the human sea: that is where I now cast my golden fishing rod and say: Open up, you human abyss!"
That's Friedrich Nietzsche, in Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Part Four.
And that is what Richard and I are doing now, fishing in the depths. We'll be back with you in several weeks.
As 2012 dawns, we wish you a year of wild hunting and fruitful fishing!

Kaaren & Richard,
However brief, your P.P.'s are always powerful and moving. Thank you for your continuity in sharing the skills, tools, and awareness that assist in wild hunting and fruitful fishing.
Your #1 Adoring Fan,
Marguerite
Dear Marguerite,
What did we ever do to deserve a friend like you?! You are so full of blessing that it continually overflows. So grateful for you and your gifts. I'll say it again: how we wish that you were teaching yoga in Paris.
Much love and have a delicious 2012,
Kaaren & Richard
I have gone fishing or leaf picking to discover a "Young Girl Eating A Bird" in the Bodhi Tree in its last day of the present incarnation...the leaves to unfold this evening time. (!) And thank you Kaaren and Richard for all the "Play" and Happy 2012. ~Lisa
Dear ones,
I cannot believe that Paris Play has achieved number 66, a multiple of 11, and therefore fortunate for us all.
Thank you both for your generosity and imagination and kindness.
Happy New Year
Bruce
Lisa:
Best of luck with THAT book. Send us a review. And please say goodbye to the Bodhi Tree for us. Here in Paris we have MANY independent bookstores, and French law keeps the big box stores out.
Hugs,
--R and K
How dear of you, Bruce. Thank you. But 66? Nuthin' compared to the number of posts you've done this year on films.
Hope 2012 brings everything you welcome.
Much love,
Kaaren & Richard
Best of wishes and warm regards to you both.
Cheers,
Wendy and Majid
Sending you both exuberant love and felicitations. Route 66 — you've traveled a beautiful winding road and graciously taken us us along for the joyous joy ride.
I'm thinking of you with my 3' wire Eiffel Tower wrapped in lights, decorated with a few balls of Cobalt Blue, a few in Silver and topped with a glass dragon fly. Paris Venice.
Lots of Love,
Joanne
Wendy! Majid!
Wonderful to hear from you both.

Dear Kaaren & Richard,
What a beautiful quote from Nietzsche...and such beautiful images.
Yes, it's good to say au revoir to the surface now and then and go diving deep. Wishing you both rich journeys, and sending you love.
xoxo,
dawna
Dear Dawna,
Thank you! Nietzsche is full of these beautiful quotes, especially in "Thus Spoke Zarathustra."
And ISN'T it wonderful to be swimming in the depths of the deep blue sea? I hope you are doing the same, and finding plenty of rich, strange things. Have a joyful 2012!
Much love,
Kaaren & Richard
Dear Joanne,
We send back exuberant love and good fortune to you! It has been a joy ride, all right.
What a great version of a Christmas tree. I'm intrigued that it's blue and silver, just like the Christmas lights along Saint-Germain.
Dragon fly: your totem creature? Paris-Venice, there's a strong link between the two, don't you think?
Much love,
Kaaren & Richard
